Local families "sprung" into spring-time fun

DOWNTOWN EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Spring Fun Fest was held today in Downtown Eau Claire's Phoenix Park. The event was put on by students from the Chippewa Valley Technical College.

For their entertainment and marketing class the students plan and put on events for the community. The Fun Fest has lots of games, food and raffles. They chose to raise money for juvenile diabetes, an illness close to one of the organizer’s heart.

"We just want to raise money because they're actively looking for a cure. And it's a painful disease; my sister had to inject herself a couple times a day, with insulin. If we could find a way to cure that, it would be amazing,” said organizer Shadoe Settle.

The food, games and prizes were all donated by local businesses.
