Local jail installs web visitation system

By  |

Trempealeau County, Wis. (WEAU) In an effort to improve safety, security, and cut costs, an area jail has installed a web-based video visitation system.

Trempealeau County Jail says visitors can now schedule visits online.

Off-site visits are done by buying pre-paid minutes through the county's website.

The jail says video visitation allows the jail to expand visitation hours, and makes it accessible to people who can't travel for a visit in person.
