Altoona, WI (WEAU)-- If you stop in at a local restaurant Monday night, you have the chance to help out some kids at Christmas time.
All day Monday, the Altoona Family Restaurant is donating the day's sales to the Kids 'N Cops Fundraiser. The program pairs officers with youth in need to buy clothing and a gift for the holiday season. On Monday, deputies and officers in Eau Claire County helped pour drinks and greet customers.
"Last year we had 100 kids that we were able to fulfill the needs of those children at the Target Superstore when we were shopping," said Sheriff Ron Cramer.
Sheriff Cramer says last year, the event also raised about $7,000 to help with the Kids 'N Cops program and they're hoping for even more this year. The Altoona Family Restaurant is open until 9 p.m. Monday.
