ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- A New Auburn man is among nine local volunteers who are about to help people affected by disasters in other states.

On Wednesday, the Western Wisconsin Region of the American Red Cross said that Jerry Favero will leave Arizona on Thursday to go to Arkansas. He will supervise a team of health services volunteers to meet health needs for people impacted by recent severe weather. It will be his 5th deployment with the Red Cross.

The Red Cross says it will provide support in the affected communities for weeks. The volunteers are also going to Kansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and North Carolina. They will spend at least two weeks volunteering.
