Longtime school board member resigns

ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) – A man who has served on the Altoona School Board for 20 years is stepping down.

Edward Bohn attended his last meeting as a board member on Monday. His resignation is effective June 30.

Bohn says he no longer has the time to make the commitments to the school board that he has in the past. He calls the decision very hard, and says he’s stepping down from the board with great sadness.

Bohn was first elected to the board in April 1992. From August 1996 until May of this year, he served as Board President. His term expires in April 2013.

The remaining members of the board will appoint a new member to fill the vacancy at the August 20 board meeting. That appointment will run through April 2013.
