Man accidentally shoots own hand
Police Lights
(WEAU) - Police say a man will be OK after accidentally shooting himself in the hand.
It happened on Van Es Parkway on the north side of Eau Claire around 7 p.m. Officers tell us the 23-year-old victim was cleaning his gun and didn't know it was loaded when it went off.
Police say he has non-life threatening injuries.
Officers will refer the case for a potential charge of mishandling a firearm. Investigators say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
