INDEPENDENCE, Wis. (WEAU)-- An Independence man is now charged after investigators say he hit and killed a pedestrian while he was texting and driving.
41-year-old Timothy Peterson faces one count of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. According to the criminal complaint, Peterson admitted that he may have been texting while driving on January 9th, and said he did not see 86-year-old Cecilia Killian when he hit her with his vehicle. Killian was taken to the hospital where she later died.
