Man arrested for 5th OWI

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WISCONSIN STATE PATROL NEWS RELEASE) -- A Minnesota man was arrested in Chippewa County for his 5th OWI.

48 year-old Eric David Anderson of Austin, has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 5th offense.

On Sunday, June 29, 2014, just before 7 p.m., Anderson was
stopped for speeding, in an RV, on Highway 27 at County O, by a Wisconsin State Trooper.

After further investigation and refusal of field sobriety testing, Mr. Anderson was subsequently arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

The Chippewa County District Attorneys Office was contacted and a warrant was obtained for a legal blood draw.

After the blood draw was completed, Mr. Anderson was transported to the Chippewa County Jail.
