MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU)-Police arrest a man after an armed robbery in Menomoine.

Officers say it happened on Tuesday around 11:30 p.m. at the Super America East gas station. Police say a man with a blue ski mask and bandanna covering his face, carrying a guitar case was seen earlier by the dumpsters behind the business. About a half hour later, the man entered the store, displayed a rifle from inside the guitar case and demanded money, which the complainant surrendered. The complainant said she knew the subject to be a male named Andrew who lived in the area. She provided a physical description of the suspect, who was known by officers.

Officers say they established a perimeter around Andrew V. Johnson's, 17, house. Police made phone contact and Johnson was arrested. Officers say follow up from a family member at Johnson's home indicated they knew/suspected Johnson was leaving to go rob someone with a rifle that he had stolen on a previous occasion.

Police recovered a rifle that was stolen in a burglary at Cannon Auto Body. Several other items were seized from the home, including clothing, linking Johnson to this case as well as to another burglary at Golden Leaf Cafe.

Johnson is currently being held at the Dunn County Jail for armed robbery. The Menomonie Police Department continues to investigate this armed robbery incident, along with other possible related incidents.
