LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- One man who's biking across the country to raise money to help kids with serious medical conditions was in the area Thursday.

Fifty-two-year-old Steve Laskey of Foxboro Massachusetts, made a stop in La Crosse.

Laskey has been biking for 100 days, and started his journey in Spokane, Washington.

He's biking through 48 states to try to raise $25,000 for the Make A Wish Foundation.

The organization works to grant wishes for kids with life-threatening medical conditions.

“I held my baby niece for the first time, and she kind of inspired me, I wasn't sure what cause I was going to donate, but she's healthy and strong and everything, but she made me think of Make A Wish right away,” said Laskey

Laskey was biking to Iowa Thursday, which will be the 18th state he's gone through.

He's hoping to finish his ride in Maine around Thanksgiving.
