CALEDONIA, Minn. (HOUSTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE) -- On Sunday October 20th, 2013 at 1538 hours the Houston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported meth lab explosion. It was reported that a 50 year old male was severely burnt and seeking medical treatment in La Crosse. The victim was later transported to a burn center for treatment. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Caledonia Ambulance and Fire Department, the Winona County Sheriff’s Office, and the Southeast Minnesota Gang and Narcotic Task Force. A search warrant was executed and evidence recovered is consistent with an active meth lab.
At this time, the name of the victim/suspect is being withheld due to an on-going criminal investigation. The Houston County Sheriff’s Office will not release further information until the investigation is complete.
