Man charged in deadly boat crash pleads not guilty

PIERCE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU)-- A man charged in a deadly boating crash on the Wisconsin side of the St. Croix River, pleads not guilty.

Patrick Puhalla, of Bayport, Minnesota, made the plea to all five counts, including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, in Pierce County court.
Puhalla is accused of driving a boat while drunk last June and crashing into the shoreline near Kinnikinnic State Park.

40-year-old David Riley, of New Richmond, was a passenger in the boat and was killed.
