Man charged in deadly crash pleads guilty

Tri will be back in court for sentencing in March.

PIERCE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU)-- The man who's charged with causing a deadly crash in Pierce County has pleaded guilty.

Online court records show 24-year-old Zebediah Tri, of River Falls, made the plea to one count of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. A second charge was dismissed.

Deputies say in March of last year, 50-year-old Brenda Bemis was killed when the car she was riding in was rear-ended on U.S. Highway 63. A criminal complaint says Tri was driving the car that was following Bemis, and a blood test after the crash found he had THC in his system.
