ELK MOUND, Wis. (WEAU)-- A man is taken to the hospital after getting hit in the head by a beam.

It happened around 1:45 Wednesday afternoon in the Town of Spring Brook, which is south of Elk Mound.

The Dunn County Sheriff's Department says the 39-year-old, whose name hasn't been released, was moving a liquid storage tank with some other people when a chain broke, causing the beam to swing and hit him.
The sheriff's department says the beam weighed between 300 to 400 pounds.

The man is being treated at an Eau Claire hospital for a serious head injury.
