NEW INFORMATION: Deadly fire may have started in heater

COON VALLEY, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities say one person has died in a mobile home fire in Vernon County.

Sheriff's officials say 76-year-old George Faber was killed Monday when the blaze swept his home in Coon Valley, a small village about 10 miles southeast of La Crosse.

Investigators says they are focusing on an electrical heater as a possible source of the fire.
VIROQUA, Wis. (WEAU) – Deputies are investigating the death of a man in a mobile home fire.

George Faber, 76, died in the fire.

A neighbor reported the fire around 9:45 a.m. on Viking Street in Coon Valley. Crews responded, and had to break into the home to put out the flames. Deputies are investigating what cause the fire, and how Faber died.
