WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WEAU) -- Rescue crews were on scene after a male subject jumped off the Jackson Street Bridge in Wisconsin Rapids.

Officers and bystanders were able to find the male subject fighting a heavy current and clinging onto a rock wall under the bridge.

The male subject was treated and released from the hospital and then transported to a mental health facility for evaluation.

The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was assisted by the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department, Wood County Sheriff's Department and Wood County Rescue.
