Man who kicked officer sentenced to jail time

(WEAU) - An Eau Claire man accused of setting a blanket on fire and kicking an officer in an emergency room has been sentenced.

Robert Hawke was ordered to serve 8 months in jail with credit for 150 days served. The criminal complaint says Hawke was in an exam room at the Mayo Clinic Health System in May when he intentionally started the blanket on fire.

The fire caused smoke to spread in the building.

An officer was called in and put Hawke in handcuffs, that's when he kicked the officer in the leg.
