NEILLSVILLE, Wis. (WEAU) – Most of a man’s arm was severed in a crash involving a dump truck.

It happened just before 4 p.m. Friday west of Marshfield. The Clark County Sheriff’s Department says Joseph Serafin, 50, of Neillsville was driving an SUV west on County Road H near County Road Y. The SUV crossed the center line of the highway, and side-swiped a dump truck that was headed east.

The driver of the dump truck wasn’t hurt. Deputies say Serafin had his left arm outside of the SUV when the trucks collided, which caused most of his left arm to be severed. He was taken to the hospital.
