WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- Wausau police say officers have found the body of a 33-year-old man along the shoreline of Lake Wausau.

A female friend of the man told police he had left their apartment on foot Monday evening. She said he was intoxicated when he left and she had been out looking for him.

Officers were called about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a man's body found on rocks near the Lake Wausau shore. Detectives found the man was dead.

The man has been positively identified, but his name is being withheld until police can notify his family.

An autopsy is planned.
