Medical mission trip planned to Haiti has been cancelled

(WEAU)- A medical mission trip that was planned to Haiti has been cancelled.

Marshfield Clinic had planned to travel to Haiti. The clinic says it's cancelling the trip because of unforeseen circumstances that arose in recent days including safety concerns linked to recent kidnappings, killings and unrest.

Medical missions to the impoverished Caribbean nation of Haiti have become an annual tradition for a growing number of Marshfield Clinic providers.

According to a previous news release, a record number of employees, including seven physicians, were to take part in this year’s trip. The Marshfield Clinic contingent was going to travel to Haiti from Feb. 6-13.
