EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Investigators disposed of a military explosive they found at an Eau Claire home.

Eau Claire police responded to the home on Laurel Avenue Monday afternoon. The homeowners reported finding an old, cone-shaped bomb in their attic. It had been left by the previous owners. Officers called in a bomb squad from Marathon County. It took the bomb to a firearms range outside of town to get rid of it.

Nobody was hurt. A police department spokesman says some people like to hold on to military explosives like this one, but don't realize that they are dangerous.
