MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A man who was armed with knives is dead after he refused officers' orders to drop his weapons and was shot by a Milwaukee officer.

Police say Sunday it's the second time in a week that Milwaukee police had to use deadly force.

The latest incident happened Saturday night, when officers went to a house where a man with two knives was allegedly threatening to kill a family member. The 46-year-old man has a history of violence against his family. When officers arrived, he was outside with knives, and advanced on police.

One officer shot him. The incident is being investigated.

Last Wednesday, police killed a 45-year-old man who was threatening to kill himself and refused to drop his weapon.
