More than 600 take to the lanes for Big Brothers, Big Sisters

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) More than 600 people will be taking to the lanes to raise money for an area non-profit.

The Bowl for Kids' Sake started Friday at Wagner's Lanes in Eau Claire.

It is Big Brothers Big Sisters largest fundraiser in Northwestern Wisconsin, raising nearly 40% of their yearly funds in one event.

This year, more than 120 teams will be taking part.

Food from a number of restaurants will be there and hundreds of raffle prizes will be given out.

There will also be a number of contests like trivia, costumes and dances.

"People really get into it, the costumes are here tonight and not only is it a great event but also know they are supporting kids right here in our community, so its a great event to fun and they know its for a great cause," says Craig Monson of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

It is a week long event with games planned Friday, and next Tuesday through Friday.
