Friday is national “Give Kids a Smile” day and more than 100 children received dental services in Eau Claire as part of the event.
Friday at the CVTC Dental Clinic, area dentists provided free dental care to children at no cost. That added up to about $50,000 in services. The dentists say days like Friday are a big help to many people who are less fortunate.
Program Director Pam Entorf said "So for people who don't have dental insurance, maybe low income, lost their jobs...have no way to pay for dental care, this one day that we do where everybody volunteers their time to make sure those kids get care is really important."
Two Eau Claire offices of Midwest Dental also took part in the “Give Kids a Smile” effort and provided free dental care during the day.
