NEW INFORMATION: Motorcycle crash victim identified

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) - We now know the name of the victim of a motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon.

On Thursday, the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department said that Samantha Davison, 30, of Menomonie was killed in the wreck. The department identified the driver of the car involved in the crash as Aaric Spencer, 17, of Medford.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday on State Highway 178 in the Town of Eagle Point. Deputies say Davison was going south when she tried to pass a car on the left. The car and motorcycle collided. She was thrown from the motorcycle and died of her injuries.
CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) - A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in Chippewa County Wednesday afternoon.

The Chippewa County Sheriff's Department says it happened on State Highway 178 in the Town of Eagle Point around 5:15 p.m. It says two motorcycles were driving together south bound, when they came up to a car.

The department says one of the motorcyclists tried to pass the car on the left and the two made contact. The driver was thrown from the bike and died from the crash.

The person's name hasn't been released.
