Murder case stalls over public defender decision

(WEAU) - The case against the suspect in 2008 murder case has stalled.

Joseph Reinwand, 54, is charged with death of Dale Meister. Meister was found shot to death in his Wisconsin Rapids home in March of 2008. Meister is the father of Reinwand's granddaughter.

The case has stalled because the court is having to determine whether or not Reinwand qualifies for a public defender.

He is expected to be transported back to the Stanley Correctional Prison to finish a three-year sentence stemming from a burglary conviction.
