EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Officers are looking for the person who robbed a Subway restaurant on Monday night.

Eau Claire police say they believe a "lone male" went in the restaurant on Eddy Lane just before 9:30 p.m. Monday, and that he had a black handgun. His identity was concealed. Nobody else was in the restaurant at the time. Officers did not say what he got away with. They're not sure if he left in a vehicle or on foot. They also don't know which way he went when he left. Officers responded, but the robber was gone when they arrived. Police do not know if there were any other suspects involved. No shots were fired.

Police talked to an employee who was there at the time. Officers say the suspect hit the employee, but that the employee refused treatment. There's no word on what the employee was hit with.
