NEW INFORMATION: Eau Claire man accused of killing wife

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Police have made an arrest in the death of a woman.

A news release from the Eau Claire Police Department says officers arrested Thomas Biesterveld, 60, of Eau Claire on Monday for First Degree Intentional Homicide in the death of his wife, Lois Biesterveld, 58. Thomas Biesterveld is being held in the Eau Claire County Jail.

Officers found Lois Biesterveld's body at 821 Harris St. in Eau Claire, which is Thomas Biesterveld's home. Police had said her death is considered suspicious. They had arrested Biesterveld for OWI, fleeing an officer, and using a dangerous weapon to endanger safety early Friday morning after a chase that ended in front of his home. Thomas Biesterveld was not charged in the case as of Monday afternoon. He is scheduled to appear in Eau Claire County court at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Police will hold a news conference Tuesday morning to discuss the case. The release says the department will not release any other information on the case before the news conference. WEAU 13 News will be at the news conference, and will bring you the latest details on-air and on
