NEW INFORMATION: Group home worker accused of theft free on bond

MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A Chippewa Falls woman accused of stealing from group home residents is free on bond.

Court records show that Erin Insteness, 42, posted $300 cash on Monday. She had been booked into the Dunn County Jail Sunday night. A warrant had been filed in the case last week. Insteness is accused of taking money from people at Brotoloc North's Tara Place in the Town of Elk Mound between January 2013 and April 2014. She's also accused of pawning a diamond ring that belongs to one of the residents. A criminal complaint says Insteness has worked for the company for 16 years, and when an administrator asked her about the missing money, she denied taking it.

Insteness is due back in court on June 24.
