EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - A recent fundraiser for the Feed My People Food Bank raised more than $84,000 for local hunger relief.

On Thursday, Feed my People announced the total amount that an August 2 live auction brought in. The event was at Gordy's County Market on Hamilton Avenue in Eau Claire.

The executive director of Feed My People says the money helps provide food for struggling families and help the facility bring in more nutritious food.

More than 200 area businesses donated more than 900 items for the auction.
