NEW INFORMATION: Man killed in Town of Washington crash identified

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The man who died after hitting a deer while riding a motorcycle has been identified.

On Tuesday morning, the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office identified the man as James Tweet, 69, of rural Eau Claire. The crash happened just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday on Deerfield Road in the Town of Washington. Investigators say Tweet was going west on Deerfield Road near Cater Road. That's when he hit the deer. He was thrown from the motorcycle.

Tweet was pronounced dead at the scene.
