NEW INFORMATION: Name released of suspect killed in officer-involved shooting

TOWN OF RED CEDAR, Wis. (WEAU) -- UPDATE: The Dunn County Sheriff's Department has identified the suspect in the officer-involved shooting as 32-year-old Dennis B Grohn.

A search warrant shows investigators had permission from a judge to search Grohn's home after someone told investigators that he was selling meth.

The sheriff says when they served the search warrant early Wednesday morning, there was a confrontation and at least one shot was fired. Grohn later died at a hospital.

TOWN OF RED CEDAR, Wis. (WEAU) --The victim of an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday morning was a suspected meth dealer.

The man's name hasn't been released. Investigators had reportedly been looking into the 32-year-old from the Dunn County Town of Red Cedar, which is east of Menomonie. Someone told investigators that the man was selling meth. That person then went undercover, and bought drugs Tuesday.

When officers served a search warrant at the man's home early Wednesday morning, Sheriff Dennis Smith says there was a confrontation, and at least one shot was fired. The man died later at the hospital.
