EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- An event aimed at raising funds for an area non-profit organization brought in more than $2,000.

UW-Eau Claire students raised $2,019.24 for the Feed My People Food Bank at Soup and Bread Night on February 26. Almost 1,800 people showed up. Volunteers served soup and bread instead of the usual meals at Riverview Cafe in Hilltop Center.

The executive director of Feed My People will be invited to a Blugold Dining committee meeting to accept the donation.
