BARRON, Wis. (WEAU) -- Investigators have released the names of the people involved in a deadly traffic crash near Barron Wednesday.

On Thursday morning, the Barron County Sheriff's Department said that Eva Edwards, 34, of Turtle Lake died in the wreck. Another driver, Dillion Merlak, 24, of Minocqua, was not hurt. It happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday. Investigators said Merlak was driving a tanker truck that was carrying propane when he was turning left onto U.S. Hwy. 8 east from 17th Street, which is east of Barron. He didn't see the car that Edwards was driving, and her car collided with the back of the tanker trailer. She was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

A stretch of highway 8 was closed for almost five hours. Investigators are trying to find out if anything else factored into the crash.
