MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) -- SWAT team officers have been cleared in an officer-involved shooting that killed a man in Dunn County.
Investigators say sheriff's Deputy Peter Forbes shot Dennis Grohn, 32, after Grohn charged at him. The officers were serving a "no knock" warrant to look for drugs at Grohn's home in the Town of Red Cedar in February. The two struggled on the floor of a garage. When Fall Creek Officer Adam Prorok got there, he says he saw Grohn's hand on the deputy's rifle, so he shot Grohn once. An autopsy determined Grohn died of two gunshot wounds.
Dunn County District Attorney James Peterson determined that the officers were justified in the shooting after the state Department of Justice investigated.
