The woman accused of robbing five banks is now charged with the crime in Menomonie.
Prosecutors charged 23-year-old Ranya Al-Huthaili from Minnesota in federal court Friday for robbing the Dairy State Bank in Menomonie on Monday.
Al-Huthaili was arrested Monday night at a mall in Minnesota.
She's also accused of holding up Minnesota banks in Cologne, Stacy and Forest Lake, then one in Hudson, Wisconsin.
Court documents linked cash from the Menomonie robbery to a laptop she bought at the Rosedale Shopping Center.
She's still in federal custody.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (MINNEAPOLIS FBI NEWS RELEASE) --FBI Special Agent in Charge, J. Christopher Warrener announces the arrest of Ranya Hamad Al-Huthaili, date of birth 8/24/90. Al-Huthaili was arrested without incident on September 9, 2013 at approximately 8:30 pm in Roseville, Minnesota by Special Agents of the FBI, along with officers of the Roseville Police Department. Al-Huthaili was arrested in connection with the following bank robberies:
(1) Klein Bank – 210 Paul Avenue North, Cologne, MN (8.15.13)
(2) First State Bank of Wyoming – 6115 Stacy Trail, Stacy, MN (8/22/13)
(3) TCF Bank – 1186 West Broadway, Forest Lake, MN (9/1/13)
(4) First State Bank & Trust – 219 Second Street, Hudson, WI (9/5/13)
(5) Dairy State Bank – 605 Second Street East, Menomonie, WI (9/9/13
FBI Special Agent in Charge, Warrener stated that “the arrest was the culmination of a joint effort between local law enforcement agencies and the FBI.” The following agencies worked jointly on the investigation: Carver County Sheriff’s Office; Chisago County Sheriff’s Office; Forest Lake Police Department; Hudson, Wisconsin Police Department; Menomonie, Wisconsin Police Department; Metro Regional Information Collaboration Group; Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office; Roseville Police Department; and the FBI.
Ranya Hamad Al-Huthaili is considered to be innocent of these crimes until/unless she is proven guilty in a Court of Law.
