NEW INFORMATION: Victim of crash near Cochrane identified

ALMA, Wis. (WEAU) -- Investigators have identified the man injured in a crash Thursday.

The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office says Benjamin Rothering, 20, of Cochrane was driving south on Kamrowski Road near Cochrane Thursday morning. The car went over an icy patch in the road near Prairie Moon Road and went off the road. The car went airborne, hit a power pole, and then hit a railroad crossing arm. Rothering went to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

When asked about Rothering's condition on Friday, deputies said that he had "improved."
