MERRILL, Wis. (AP) -- The Lincoln County Humane Society says it's received an "incredible" show of community support after about 50 dogs were rescued from a cold, filthy home over the weekend.

A Daily Herald Media report says the Humane Society has been inundated with donations -- everything from canned dog food to towels.

Staffers say they still need cleaning supplies and milk replacer to feed puppies that haven't been weaned yet. They say they could also use cash donations, since spaying and neutering costs might total as much as $10,000.

Shelter manager Liz Friedenfels says the dogs should be available for adoption soon.

Lincoln County Sheriff's Lt. Tim Fischer says no criminal charges are being pursued against the dogs' owners. He says there's not a criminal case to be made.
