EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) A crash on the 53 bypass near Melby Street in Lake Hallie caused a traffic backup Thursday afternoon.

It happened just before two o'clock in the southbound lanes of the freeway, near the border of Lake Hallie and the Town of Seymour.

The Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department says a man was driving when he had a seizure.

Deputies say his wife tried to steer the car from the passenger seat, but the car hit a rock embankment.

The two and their 8-year old daughter were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Deputies say the driver was ticketed for driving with a revoked license, and driving without insurance.
