MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Dozens of Minnesota gay couples are making last-minute wedding preparations as gay marriage is about to become legal in the state.
Minnesota's new law takes effect Thursday. Weddings will start just after midnight around the state, including at Minneapolis City Hall, Como Park in St. Paul, the Mall of America's Chapel of Love and courthouses elsewhere in the state.
Stearns County Court Administrator Tim Roberts will perform a 12:01 a.m. marriage at the courthouse in St. Cloud. He says it's a historic day and he's honored to be part of it.
