New information released in New Richmond armed robbery

NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (RELEASE FROM NEW RICHMOND POLICE DEPT.)-- UPDATED RELEASE: Wednesday, January 22nd 2014 at approximately 5:55 p.m., New Richmond Officers were dispatched to the “Cash Store” located at 1621 Dorset Lane for a report of an “Armed Robbery”.

Arriving Officers talked with a female employee of the Cash Store, who reported that a white male, wearing a dark colored ski mask, entered the store displayed a dark colored handgun demanding money. The store employee complied with the requests of the suspect. Prior to leaving the store, the suspect secured the employees hands’ and feet.

Once the suspect left the store, the employee managed to free herself and called 911. An undetermined amount of cash was taken.

The suspect was described as being a white male, thin build, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing all black clothing and orange colored, waist length traffic safety vest and a dark colored ski mask. The shoes the suspect is wearing appears to be black in color with white outline.

It is now believed that the suspect exited the store and headed north on foot.

Attached to this news release are two photo’s of the suspect, the first as the suspect enters the store and the second one of him leaving the store.

This incident remains under investigation by New Richmond Police Department Detectives. Anyone with information regarding this “armed robbery” is asked to call the New Richmond Police Department and talk with either Det. Veronica Koehler or Det. Craig Yehlik, at 715-246-6667.

Suspect reportedly left the area in an unknown direction of travel, possibly driving a dark colored SUV, unknown make or model.

St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the initial call.
