Elk Mound, Wi. -- A truck driver suffered injuries in a semi crash on I-94 Monday afternoon.

The Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a two vehicle
crash on I-94 eastbound at mile marker 57, near the Dunn/Eau Claire County line just after 4 p.m.

A semi driven by 34 year-old Clinton Riedel, of Milton-Freewater, Oregon, was driving eastbound on I-94, in the left lane, passing a dump truck driven by 42 year-old Wayne Kundinger, of Fifield, Wisconsin.

Riedel told deputies that he then had a vehicle malfunction that caused him to lose control of his semi.

The semi started to travel into the median, hit the cable barriers and then traveled back across the eastbound lanes.

The dump truck, which was still in the right lane, hit the trailer of semi as it crossed in front of him.

The right lane was blocked by the crashed vehicles.

Kundinger sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The scene was cleared around 6:00pm, and the crash remains under investigation.
