11 fire departments battle fire at Organic Valley headquarters

LA FARGE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Employees at a Western Wisconsin business are regrouping after a fire.

The La Farge Fire Chief said firefighters were called to Organic Valley around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.

He said the fire started on the west end of the building either inside the door or in the deck area.

The building was fully occupied when the fire broke out.

However, no one was hurt.

Eleven fire departments from three counties battled the fire, and the chief said it was important for everyone to work together.

“It was absolutely critical, and I think it was a great complement to the fire service in our area that we’re able to field a team like this,” said La Farge Fire Chief Phil Stittleburg.

The building was turned back over to Organic Valley at 10:30 Wednesday morning.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined yet.
