EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Packers-nation is buzzing with excitement. Die-hard fans are stocking up on green and gold shirts and hats as Green Bay gets ready to take on San Francisco.
Shopko says it's been selling out of their Packers apparel since Christmas.
Fans spend thousands of dollars on green and gold gear every day, and with all of the Packers wins lately, the trend continues to grow.
"I don't think it slowed down ever since, we still selling left and right, a ton of stuff,” said Kassandra Jastrow, Shopko Apparel Supervisor.
"They get more and more excited as we get into the playoffs and the further they go the more rapid they become for their packers,” said Dave Eslinger, Shopko General Merchandise Manager.
But what are the Packers fans adding to their closets?
"Most popular items are T-shirts that we have; there is always a big demand for that, new hats,” said Eslinger.
“Between me and my husband we probably have 20 shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats; closet is full of it. It’s definitely one of our staples,” said Packers fan Sarah Hine.
And packer fans do have a lot to choose from. From piggy-banks, to action figurines and off course your stand-by packers item-the cheese head.
"You just can't get enough merchandise to keep them happy,” said Eslinger.
It seems no matter how much green and gold a Packers-fan's closet can hold, there is never enough to show off that Packers-pride; especially if the Super Bowl is in their future.
"You’re always on the lookout for something more,” said Hine.
"I always get something, not every time, but when they win the important games,” said Packers fan, Ed Fasbander.
"I'm very proud to be a packer a fan,” said Hine.
And if the Packers make it past this weekend and win the N.F.C. Championship in two weeks, Shopko will be getting more Packers gear. And of course, if they make it to the Super Bowl, the apparel sales are expected to go through the roof, just like they did two years ago.
