For local business owners the start of the football season means big business.
“I love my Packers, I may not get there as much as I want to Lambeau Field but as long as I’m in town supporting that's all that matters and they know it,” Packers fan Doreen Wiesner said.
It was all about kicking off the start of the regular season in style for fans at sports bars in the Chippewa Valley.
“I have the green and the gold nail polish the hair everything its fun,” Wiesner said.
“I just like hanging out having a good time and enjoying the atmosphere,” Peggy Nelson said.
It’s the fun atmosphere, that bar and restaurant owners say keeps people coming in and workers busy.
“Typically we add on four to five and then definitely add to our kitchen staff, greeters every aspect of the business we want to make sure we are covered in all areas,” Buffalo Wild Wings kitchen manager Lindsey Smith said.
“We’re pretty happy to see the packer season start again it’s almost like a holiday, people are excited its football season,” Red Zone Sports Bar owner Randy Kuhnert said.
With the start of a fresh season in front of them Packers fans say they have high hopes for the team this year.
“I think we have a little bit of a sour taste in our mouth from last season and am excited to watch them play this season,” Eric Neiman said.
“Oh they are definitely going to go to the super bowl if they do I am going to go too,” Nelson said.
The Packers will play their first home game of the regular season on September 15th against the Washington Redskins.
