Parts of Chippewa River Trail in Eau Claire flooded

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Some stretches of the Chippewa River Trail are now flooded as the river level rises.

On Monday afternoon, the City of Eau Claire reported that the river at Grand Avenue in Eau Claire was about seven feet below flood stage. That's about two feet higher than it was on Friday. It goes on to say that temperatures are expected to be as high as the lower 50's in the upper watershed this week, and that crest projections should result in flooding in the lower sections of Owen Park and lower sections of the Chippewa River Trail until next week.

The city will keep monitoring the river, and report new information as it becomes available.
