Party goers, pizza places prepare for Super Bowl

EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. (WEAU) - On the heels of the Super Bowl, football fans are rushing to grocery stores and finishing last minute game day preparations.

As the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens prepare their offense, defense and special teams, Eau Claire Festival Foods was getting ready for one of its biggest days, preparing wings, chips and beer.

"The Super Bowl really brings in a lot of people and sells a lot of salty products and everything," shift manager Nina Winistorfer said.

With its crew decked out in football gear, Winistorfer said it's a busy but fun day for Festival staff working all 14 checkout lines.

"We do have more staff on Sunday, rather than Saturday, mostly just hope people are coming in, feeling celebratory, and hopefully a lot of people are up to beat," she said.

North Clairemont Domino's assistant manager Dustin Turnmire said the big game means big sales for pizza delivery.

"With the pizza business, I'd have to say, it's the biggest day of the year," Turnmire said. "Constant phone calls, constant internet orders."

It all contributes to an American tradition.

"Why not have a day where you spend time with your friends watching football and celebrating something that everyone loves?" Winistorfer said.
