People come out for sand mine meeting in Trempealeau County
Representatives from the mining company Carbo Ceramics were there to answer questions about a proposed sand mining operation in the Town of Chimney Rock.

(WEAU) - It was a packed house in Trempealeau county Monday night, as people had a chance to learn more about sand mining.
The informational meeting was held in Independence. Representatives from the mining company Carbo Ceramics were there to answer questions about a proposed sand mining operation in the Town of Chimney Rock.
Carbo Ceramics says the plans for the mine are still in a preliminary phase, and land needs to be re-zoned before the project moves forward.
