Philanthropists of the year honored
(WEAU) - Several community members were honored Thursday for giving back.
The Chippewa Valley Fund Raising Professionals honored the Barland family as the 2012 Philanthropist of The Year and Katharine Rhoten got the youth honors.
The Barland family of Eau Claire is well known for their philanthropy and volunteerism for four generations.
Katharine Rhoten is the youngest person to establish a donor-advised fund with the Eau Claire Community Foundation. "Katharine's Wish" gives toys or books to children in the hospital.
