DURAND, Wis. (AP) -- The victim of an ultra-light plane crash in Buffalo County has been identified as a Durand man.
Douglas Kadinger was piloting a single-seat aircraft at Durand Airport in the town of Maxville when it crashed during takeoff Sunday. Authorities say Kadinger was killed on impact.
Buffalo County Sheriff Michael Schmidtknecht says Kadinger had purchased the ultra-light just a few weeks ago. FAA investigators are looking into cause of the crash.

MAXVILLE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A lone pilot has been killed after crashing a plane in Buffalo County.
The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office says it happened just before 12 p.m. Sunday at the Durand Airport.
Deputies say a man witnessed the plane crash land and called 911.
The lone male pilot is from the Durand area.
Deputies say the single seat Ultra Lite model "1 Loran 1/2 Tun" had crashed during take off and the pilot was killed on impact.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been advised of the crash and will be assisting in the investigation.
The name of the pilot has not yet been released.
